IN2CRETE™ Densifier & Integral Moisture Emission Control
MVB DENSIFIER™ brings about benefits that are unobtainable with typical sealers.
When applied to existing concrete, Moiture Vapor Block - MVB Densifier™ penetrates the capillary voids, reacting with and hydrating un-hydrated cement (free alkali). As it penetrates, MVB Densifier begins to react with the present free alkalis and un-hydrated calcium hydroxides, forming an insoluble, suspended gel inside the capillary structure of the concrete. The concrete substrate is internally detoxified, strengthened, densified, and integrally waterproofed.
The suspended insoluble gel fill within the capillary structure of the concrete slab results in increased compressive and flexural strength. It provides superior resistance to freeze-thaw damage, virtually eliminates dusting, permeability, efflorescence, as well as spalling and/or scaling.
The treated concrete becomes extremely impermeable to liquids and gases such as radon. Due to the significant increase in hydrated cement, internal chemical reactions that would otherwise ultimately result in the premature deterioration of the concrete, are greatly reduced.
MVB Densifier™ brings about benefits that are unobtainable with typical sealers. It provides virtual elimination of dusting & efflorescence impermeability from the negative and positive sides of concrete protection against future spalling/scaling. It requires a single permanent application which lasts for the entire useful life of the concrete.
Due to the nature of the reactivity of MVB Densifier™, it can also be applied to surfaces at any orientation, i.e. floors, walls, and ceilings. This same reactivity also permits the application of MVP Block™ to the negative side of concrete where there is visible hydrostatic pressure coming from the positive side of the concrete, such as in concrete water containment facilities, even with active weeping and a remaining constant hydrostatic pressure (water still in the container).
MVB Densifier™ is an ideal surface preparation medium for Decorative Concrete Resurfacing
Moisture related failures are eliminated or significantly reduced by a single application of MVB Densifier™
The bondability of resurfacing polymer modified cementitious coatings is greatly enhanced by the absence of excessive moisture vaporization, which significantly decrease the chances of delamination failures. MVB Densifier™ is an excellent integral waterproofing sealer, and penetrating dyes react very well with it.
It is NOT recommended for acid staining applications. Most reactive stains penetrate from 1/32nd to 1/16th of an inch, and MVB Densifier, settles just below the surface of the concrete. Reactivity of the stain is affected by the absence of efflorescence and moisture.
For both integral and topical moisture barrier, we are pleased to introduce the MVBD Primer™. This dual purpose waterproofing sealer delivers the same properties as the MVB Densifier™ adding a surface membrane which wicks in and bonds tenaciously to the concrete surface. This membrane acts as an additional moisture shield, while enhancing bondability of water borne glues or cementitious coatings to the surface. It is a MUST use when applying micro-toppings such as Concrete Solution’s Spray-Top®. The absence of topical moisture migration ensures a continued, strong bond for adhesives or polymer enhanced cementitious toppings, as well as excellent color retention for decorative micro-toppings. If you are in the Decorative Concrete or Concrete Resurfacing trade, you owe it to yourself to try the MVBD Primer™ on your next job.
In case of visible or suspected hydrostatic pressure, it is recommended to perform a Calcium Chloride test prior to treating the concrete. Apply a single coating of the MVB Densifier™. After 12-24 hours, apply the MVBD Primer™. Prior to applying your desired floor finish, and 24 hours after the application of the MVBD Primer™, it is suggested to perform a second Calcium Chloride test, and log your results. WE ARE CONFIDENT that you will be well below the recommended standards of 3lbs per 1,000 Sq. Ft. of moisture vapor emission.
